August 29th 2010 Qualifying Results Ironman Canada:
Overall Time: 9:54.42
2.4 Mile Swim - 56 minute swim = 1:23/100 yard pace
112 Mile Bike - 5hr 34 min bike = 20 mph
26.2 Mile Run - 3hr 17min run = 7:33 pace
T1 + T2 = 6:28 (transition)
78th overall out of 2800 competitors.
Highlights: A beautiful cool lake swim. Two long climbs through the Cascade Mountains and 25 miles of rain mixed with sleet/hail on the bike with a strong head wind from Mile 85-110.
My favorite part was testing my mettle in the last 13 miles of the race which was mostly uphill and into the wind. I am proud of the fact that I negative split my marathon which I owe in part to my strength training at FIT.
